HISTORY !
..cecelia eliška noväk.., born in december of 1331 to a commonwealth family in the kingdom of bohemia. she was the oldest of two sisters, the twins abigél & adélia coming four years after cecelia. her town was .devoutly catholic., & from a young age, cecily was closely woven with the church. she decided to seek ordainment into the sisterhood at 14, dedicating years of her adolescence to studying the gospel & engaging with the church. .she became a christened nun at 19., & arrangements were made for her new life at saint margaret's abbey.when the black plague struck europe, churches & abbeys became sanctuary for those sick who wished to be prayed over & tended to. many travelers would come through, most ill with the bubonic plague. cecily consumed more than her fill of death in those months, the bodies piling up. she prayed over countless ill, tending to their ailments as best she could while preparing for their end. .one particular traveler by the name of tomáš entered st. margaret's abbey,. claiming to desperately need help. he was placed under cecilia's charge, who treated him as empathetically as she would any other ill. during the night, while she checked on him — tomáš .viciously attacked. cecilia, draining her until she was barely clinging to life. upon seeing what he had done, & believing he would be punished by god for this sin, .he fed cecily his own blood in order to turn her..when cecily awoke, she was being tended to by a number of her sisters. they had found her covered in blood, yet seemingly uninjured; & unbeknownst to them or cecily herself, .she was undergoing the transition into a vampire.. racked with cold sweat & uncontrollable chills, cecily confided to a dearly close friend that she felt something was deeply wrong with her. her cravings for human flesh felt unholy & evil, cecily begging sister amélla to pray over her.tomáš returned days later to find cecily in poor condition, still .resisting these urges. thrust upon her. he explained clearly to her what she would become, & confided in her that it was her own choice; she could undergo the transition into a .vampire., or she could pass & go unto God. after another day of terrible illness, cecily had made her decision; .she would transition., & earn god's forgiveness afterwards.cecily transitioned with tomáš' help. he would go on to explain every edge of her new condition, likely out of remorse for his attack. .eventually the plague befell sister amélla., cecily's close friend & confidante. the illness wracked her weak body like poison, & cecily could hardly stand to see her friend in such a state. .she made an offer to amélla.; the same one tomáš had given to her — she could transform into a creature of the night & survive, or she could quietly pass on to god. amélla was the first that cecily ever turned; & with amélla seemingly returned to perfect health, the sisters began widely considering cecily to be a .performer of miracles..many more came after amélla. those ill who traveled through the abbey would be given the same offer; .vampirism, or inevitable death.. throughout ten years, cecily 'healed' & sired over 300 vampires. the abbey revered her as a saint, & word quickly spread throughout europe.cecily .disappeared. from the history books around 1360, little to no paper trail left after this time. she receded into her .network of vampires., living off of their support for a number of years while getting her footing in the world. she traveled, spent her time learning languages, religions and cultures inside and out. watched societies rise, the revolution of mankind. befriended authors, philosophers, scientists, heiresses. she kept her name out of written word for the most part, going through a laundry list of false surnames while taking on the name .cecily....MODERN DAY,.. cecily lives off of selling old relics & historical artifacts to museums & research programs, as well as juggling a line of both bars and medical clinics globally. when trouble arises, she still has a collection of 50+ sires; though she keeps a very close eye on them. .those who step out of line by committing acts of violence are dispatched of.. cecily no longer has any ties to the church, having abandoned her faith around the time she dropped from historical records.

cecily, then sister cecilia, was turned into a vampire during the black death in the 14th century. she began curing plague victims by turning them into vampires, earning the title saint cecelia. over the centuries, she built a vast network of vampires , but the mix of her controversial methods & growing influence drew the attention of hunters & other vampires, including the mikaelsons. cecily has been searching for the cure to vampirism for as long as she can remember, often drawn back to mystic falls in her search for information. after a number of her sirelings were killed by the townsfolk, she vowed never to step foot back on its soil — until the news of a new doppelganger reaches her, cecily returning to mystic falls with the question: is her cure is closer than she thought?

the cult originated in the mid-1300's , in a much more rudimentary state than it exists in today. the earliest written record of vybraní [ the chosen ones ] was in 1359 during the midst of the plague. cecily, curing those struck with the plague via vampirism, unwittingly amassed a great number of sirelings. she had no intention of creating an army or even a group of loyal followers, yet this is what came of her choice.her transformation into an idol or deistic figure was not entirely by choice, as the vampires she had sired took to her as their god-mother; the provider, the protector, &. the literal savior. her connection to a number of sirelings ran deep, cecily feeling responsible for those she's turned. as humans began to pick off her followers left and right, her pain & their anguish brought cecily to a decision; she would create a place that was safe.the vybraní was first formed in the czech republic, however current day her communes span three countries ; one in the states ( louisiana ), one in zurich switzerland, & one in barcelona.their belief system centers around the flourishing of vampire-kind, both within & outside of the commune. cecily's doctrine makes an emphasis on reduction of harm, the ideal of prosperity between mankind & vampires, the importance of using one's immortality to learn & grow to understand yourself perfectly. cecily is known by her more obsessively devoted followers as 'stínová matka' or, shadow mother.

after traveling across the sea to find a fresh start somewhere new, cecily fits almost eerily well into london's high society. posing as an orphaned heiress, her knowledge of language, music, literature & politics seemed to quickly earn the heart of many english mama's, who were very displeased to hear that cecily wouldn't be participating in this year's social season. mostly content to mingle &. arrange a new life in this land, cecily's plans are put to a grinding halt — deaths popping up left &. right, bodies drained of blood — only cecily isn't the perpetrator.
